Senior Audio System Engineer

The Role:

The Senior Audio System Engineer will work in an audio experts team, and will be responsible for the architecture, specification, design, and performance of high quality audio systems and components in handheld devices, smartphones, and peripherals. Responsibilities include:

• Specify, design, and manage audio hardware/software development for various products
• Work cross-functionally to ensure timely delivery of world-class audio features and functions
• Guide and influence industrial design, component selection, and electromechanical integration
• Develop reference designs, architectures, and component/system performance requirements
• Create appropriate test metrics, and innovative test methodologies and systems
• Ensure product compliance with all internal/external standards and expectations
• Facilitate high manufacturing yields and excellent field performance of all audio systems
• Investigate/acquire/integrate next generation audio hardware/software technologies

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in audio products or multimedia technologies
• Demonstrated skills in consumer hardware, software or systems
• Hands-on experience integrating hardware/software in complex embedded systems
• Excellent cross-functional teamwork experience with good communication skills

Skills/Experience:

• Candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience and demonstrated skills in the design of electronics
• Good hardware knowledge required, with specific skills in analog design, pcb design and embedded systems highly desired. Knowledge of digital/analog audio circuit design a plus
• Candidate might also have experience in software and systems ( firmware, middleware, drivers ) with a good understanding of hardware and hardware/software interactions.
• Prior experience in hardware design of mobile phones or handheld electronic devices a plus.
• Skills in any of the following areas are nice to have: VoIP, acoustics, electromechanics, audio transducers, psychoacoustics, electroacoustics, real time audio systems, real time multiprocessor embedded systems

Education:

• Candidate should have BSEE, BSCS or BA in audio related engineering field with a minimim of 4 years of design experience.
• MSEE a plus.
